About the artist

Thomas's creative expression began with a commercial photography career that spanned over 35 years. Sought-after for a uniquely graphic approach, Thomas's experience with photography set the foundation and discipline for his current work as an abstract painter. Recognized for creating vibrant and bold images, he has applied the same approach to composition, color and contrast to create fine art paintings that are compellingly familiar albeit highly abstract.

Primarily self taught, Thomas is a voracious student who actively seeks out exhibitions, books, interviews and workshops to learn from his favorite artists. This study has also inspired him to experiment with different mediums and formats such as paint, ink and collage as demonstrated in his first solo exhibition titled, fineARTwork.

Influenced by favorite modern artists, Thomas’s work represents a synthesis of color, line, form and texture, and he often works on multiple versions of an idea. His work is part-exploration and part-controlled structure, and each composition is organized through layers, thoughtfully applied. Even his quietest paintings convey a sense of movement and energy.
