Thomas launched his career in architectural photography while based in Denver, Colorado. In the Rocky Mountain region, he photographed major architectural projects for Anderson Mason Dale, Cushman & Wakefield, Denver Art Museum, Fentress Architects, Gensler, Rouse, Sheraton Hotels, and for numerous publications including Better Home & Garden, Traditional Home, and Colorado Homes & Lifestyles magazines. His images of the Gio Ponti-designed Denver Art Museum are included in the Museum's permanent collection.

After relocating to Washington DC, Thomas expanded his portfolio working with notable firms such as Cannon Design, Group Goetz, HOK, Leo A Daly, OTJ Architects, RTKL, SmithGroup, and developer EYA. His work has been featured in regional magazines such as Home & Design, Washington Spaces and The Washington Post.

When he's not behind a camera, Thomas is frequently leading classes in architectural photography and interior lighting, currently with Boston University's Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA) situated in Georgetown.

Thomas's photography has been consistently recognized by the building and design industries. His projects have won numerous awards in competitions from AIGA, ADC of NY, Denver and DC, Communications Arts, Graphis, Identity and Print. Additionally, folios of his work have been featured in Communications Arts and Black & White magazines.
